Artisan Felted Bar Soaps from The Pacific Northwest

Sale Price: $9.00 Original Price: $12.00

In the latest installment of creative shenanigans, Nickel Art Studio is buddying up with Cat and Raven Designs to bring you: felted soap!

Why

Soap wrapped with a cushy layer of all-natural wool roving is not only pretty, but exfoliating, and due to the natural moisture-wicking properties of wool, it can help the bar of soap last longer without reducing it to gummy shreds.

How it Works

The felt will continue to shrink along with the bar as it is lathered and used, and at the end of the soap’s life, you will be left with a small felted swatch of wool. You can keep this and use it to put a new, smaller, bar of soap inside (by cutting it open and sewing it shut) or use it in a different project like as stuffing or needle felting, or use it as a scrubby pad for dishes or counters! Alternatively, since it is an all-natural product, you don’t have to feel guilty about discarding it.

Where Does the Product Come From?

The soap is sourced from the makers behind Cat and Raven Designs (click link to be taken to their website), and Nickel gets their wool from a supplier in Washington that works with local farmers who use sustainable, animal-friendly practices (no mulesing here!). All in all, these are high-quality materials that you can feel good about using!

Ingredients:

Sodium Olivate, Sodium Cocoate, Sodium Palmate, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Almondate, Sodium Castorate, Sodium Lactate, Glycerin Soap Embeds, Fragrance, Micas, Bio Glitter. Some soap variants may also contain Kaolin Clay (such as at the Palo Santo scent variety).

Unsure when these one of a kind products will return, so for now, once they’re gone, they’re gone!

[Soap is named after the vibes the finished product gave me. One unit of soap is included with each item sold. Adorable sheep and bathtub not included]
